2024-2025 Religious Education Registration Opens June 16th!
St. Stephen the Martyr offers faith formation classes for children in grades 1-Confirmation through our Religious Education Program. As parents, you are the primary teachers of passing the Catholic faith to your children. Our program serves to supplement those teachings using the Diocesan curriculum and supplemental materials.
Religious Education Class Information
Our classes for the 2024-2025 school year will run from September 8, 2024 through May 4, 2025 and are held at Aldie Elementary School on Sunday mornings from 11:15 am – 12:30 pm (new time). Through the program, children will learn what it means to be a faith-filled Catholic and how they can apply these values to their everyday lives.
Sacramental Preparation
We offer a two-year Sacramental preparation program for those who wish to receive First Holy Communion or Confirmation. The program helps children know and understand more deeply God’s immense love for each of us. We offer 1st & 2nd grade classes in English and Spanish.
Attendance at the Saturday Vigil or Sunday Mass is required for those enrolled in their Sacramental year for First Penance and First Communion (typically 2nd grade) and Confirmation (typically 8th grade).
Tuition Fees: (Before Late Fees)
1 Child – $125.00
2 Children – $175.00
3 or more Children – $225.00
Sacrament Fees (In addition to Tuition Fees):
First Penance/First Communion Sacrament Fee – $ 50.00
Confirmation Sacrament Fee – $ 75.00
Registrations submitted July 14th– August 17th will incur a $50.00 late fee
No registrations will be accepted after August 17th
Shareen Klos, Director of Religious Education, will be available in the St. Stephen the Martyr office to help families register on Tuesdays from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. She will also be available in the Parish Hall after the Sunday Spanish Mass on June 23rd, July 7th and August 4th for in-person registration and cash payments.
Parish Registration Required
You must have your Parish ID/Envelope # in order to register for Religious Education. If you need this number email office@saint-stephen.org. To complete religious education enrollment, we must have payment in full and a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate and Baptismal Certificate on file before they will be placed in a class.
To enroll in our program, you must be a registered member of St. Stephen the Martyr. If you are not currently registered or live outside of our boundaries, you must first register with the parish. Please use the following link to complete that process Become a Member of St. Stephen the Martyr.
You MUST submit your parish registration and letter to Fr. Murphy by July 31st for consideration. If approved, registration for Religious Education must be completed by August 17th.
