Through your collaboration with God, your child came to be. Through your continued collaborative effort with God’s grace, your child can be formed to be the child of God that you endeavored on the day of his or her Baptism. Our parochial catechesis is organized on the model that you are involved. Frankly, if you believe that merely dropping you child off at Religious Education fulfills your Sunday Obligation and or your role in forming the next generation of faithful Catholic Christians, then, I implore you, save your tuition fee. You are neither fulfilling your moral obligation nor effectively passing on the faith. At best, if your child’s only experience of faith is our RE Program, he may have a sense of where to find the eternal truths of life, of how to get the moral fiber necessary for a life of integrity, and how to ultimately be saved, but most likely, he will be ill-equipped to resist
the godless trends of society that lead many souls to confusion, addiction, unhappiness, and certainly possible, eternity without God. Coming to Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation in addition to participation in RE each year is truly the bare minimum to form your family in the faith. As Our Lord counsels, “For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?” (Lk 14:28) This is basic cost of accomplishing our goal of passing on the faith.

Additionally, here’s what we need from you to meet our goals:
• Each child registered in the parish and attending RE classes
• Provide a copy of the Baptismal Certificate of each student
• Sunday Mass, Holy Days of Obligation and class attendance a priority over all other
weekend sports or social activities.
• A willingness to assist your child with RE homework during the week.
